There is a wave of pointy black mortarboards in the bottom half of this photo. We sat behind the graduating students. The ceremony wasn't bad. Only took about 1.5 hours. I was upset that there was an (extended) family that took up half a row that I am pretty sure was reserved for students. Grrr. The remaining students had to play musical chairs for their seat. After they got up for the walk across the stage, the very last group of students came back. Those who had a seat previously were confused.
Speech-unremarkable.
I liked the PhD student robes. Nice and fancy.
